创造性的神经机制——基于体素的形态学研究(VBM)

【摘要】 创造性又称创造力是人类的一项重要能力,可以定义为产生新颖的和适用性的产品或想法的能力,对于社会生活的进步和经济的持续发展具有重要意义。但是到目前为止,研究者在创造性的神经机制这一问题上还没有达成共识。随着认知神经科学技术的发展,基于体素的形态学方法(Voxel based morphometry,VBM)已经被逐步引入到心理学研究中,该方法基于形态学的测量对大脑结构上特点进行描述。远距离联想测试(Remote Association Test,RAT)是一种使用广泛的创造性测量手段,该测试中的每一个项目都包含三个不相关的单词,在使用时要求被试想到另外一个词,使之能与提供的三个词都能组成新词,大量研究已经表明该方法可以有效测量个体的创造性能力。为了探测创造性问题解决的神经机制,本研究使用核磁共振技术和VBM方法获得个体的脑形态学特点,采用使用广泛的RAT测量个体的创造性能力,在261名健康大学生被试上进行多元回归分析,以研究远距离联想问题解决的神经机制。在控制性别、年龄和智力因素带来的可能影响后,发现被试在RAT上的得分与右侧前部颞上回(anterior superior temporal gyrus,aSTG)的局部灰质密度显著正相关,而与右侧扣带中回(middle cingulate cortex,MCC)的局部灰质密度显著负相关,同时还发现,被试在RAT上的得分与MCC的局部灰质体积显著正相关。结果强调了aSTG和MCC在具有遥远距离信息之间建立联系的重要作用。

【Abstract】 Creativity is an important ability of human. It can be defined as the ability to produce products or ideas that are both novel and useful. Creativity has been essential to the development of social life and plays a crucial role in cultural life. But there was no consensus about the neural correlates of creativity. Brain-imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) and VBM(Voxel based morphometry) have made it possible for us to record precisely the brain Anatomical correlates with insightful problem solving. RAT(Remote Association Test) was one of the most common measures of creativity which throught without requiring knowledge specific to any field. In the present study, we used voxel-based morphometry(VBM) and RAT to measure individual creativity capacity, and we investigated the association between regional gray matter volume(rGMV), regional gray matter density(rGMD) and creativity across the brain in healthy young adult(144 females and 117 males; the mean age = 19.89 years, standard deviation [SD]= 1.28). We discovered that higher individual creativity was associated with larger rGMD in the right anterior superior temporal gyrus(aSTG) and smaller rGMD in the right middle cingulate cortex(MCC). We also found positive correlations between rGMV and individual creativity in the right MCC. These findings suggest that individual creativity, as measured by the RAT, is mainly related to the regional gray matter of brain regions in the aSTG and MCC.
