基于丙三醇端基侧链的T型两亲性分子的复杂自组装结构研究
New Complex Self-assembled Structures Formed by T-shaped Facial Amphiphiles with Glycerol-terminated Side Chain

【摘要】 我们合成了一系列以丙三醇极性基元做为侧链端基的T型两亲性分子,其分子结构如图1所示。使用差示扫描量热法、偏光显微镜和不同的X射线方法,我们对这类两亲性分子的热致液晶相行为进行了系统性的研究。结果表明,取决于非极性的烷基链(变量n)和极性侧链(变量m)之间的体积比,这类两亲性分子可以形成具有不同几何截面形状的柱状液晶相。[1]更为重要的是,在低温梯形液晶相(Colrec/p2gg)和高温各项同性液体之间的相转变过程中,我们又发现了两个新的液晶相:一个是由两种非常规柱相基元以1:1比例组成的巨型矩形柱状液晶相;另一个是由层状和柱状结构形成的具有四方晶系对称性的三维立方相,这完全不同于以前报道过的六方多孔层状液晶相。[2]本报告将对这些新结构和它们的形成机制进行详细的介绍。
【Abstract】 We report a new series of T-shaped Facial amphiphile, with a polar and flexible side chain terminated by a glycerol unit, not carboxylic acid or metal carboxylate group reported earlier.[1] The thermotropic liquid crystalline(LC) behaviour of these compounds were investigated by DSC, polarizing microscopy and different X-ray diffraction techniques. Depending on the ratios of lipophilic alkyl end-groups and hydrophilic side segment, honeycomb type cylinder phases with different polygonal cross sections were detected. [1] More importantly, two new LC phases were found during the transition between open triangle phase at low temperature and isotropic liquid at high temperature: one is a rectangular honeycomb composing of two different types of non-regular polygons in a ratio of 1:1, the other is a new type of 3D mesophase with a tetragonal symmetry combining layers and cylinders, which is different from reported channelled layer phase. [2] These structures and their rationale will be discussed.
