【摘要】 Love is one of the important themes in Song of Solomon,in which Toni Morrison depicts the loving and hating relationships among the black community. While she distinguishes between different loves and is critical of most of them, she tries to set up an ideal love,i.e.,the universal love represented by Pilate.By a close reading of the text, this paper demonstrates that Morrison’s "ideal" love, however,is not as immaculate as assumed because it smacks of sexual discrimination.
