基于Geant4的中子慢化仿真与实验验证

【摘要】 中子关联成像要求中子处于热中子能区。为了得到热中子能区、束流稳定的热中子,需要对14MeV热中子进行慢化。本文利用Geant4模拟工具,研究聚乙烯和含硼聚乙烯对14MeV快中子的慢化效果,并与实验结果进行对比。仿真结果显示,聚乙烯的厚度和密度会影响最佳慢化效率,而改变含硼聚乙烯的厚度对慢化效果的影响不大。实验结果与仿真结果相比,随着厚度增加中子数的变化趋势是一致的。
【Abstract】 Thermal neutron is required in neutron correlated imaging. The thermal neutron beam can be obtained by slowing the 14 MeV fast neutron beam. The study of slowing effect of polyethylene and boron polyethylene is done by using the simulation tool Geant4. The result is compared with the experiment result. The simulation results show that the thickness and density will affect the best slow efficiency. The thickness of boron polyethylene has little effect on slowing. The trend of neutron number changing is consistent in both results.
