极地热水钻开孔用热熔钻进原理分析与计算

【摘要】 南极作为地球最南端最寒冷的大陆,保存着大量的古气候、古地理、古生物天然资料,具有十分重要的科研价值。而在南极表面却覆盖着大约为64~115m的冰雪层,在这一地层中,其主要成分为疏松的雪粒和并不十分密实的冰层。在这种地层中进行钻进,如采用热水钻进,热水将会发生严重的漏失,浪费大量的能量。为了克服这一问题,设计了这种极地新型热熔钻头。这种钻头由150m长度的绳索、桅杆、电加热装置、潜水泵和热熔钻头组成。高温液体(乙二醇)在地表被加热,并通过热传递加热缠绕在热熔钻头上的铜管,铜管受热后再熔化其外部的冰雪。冰雪融化形成的水将通过热熔钻头内部的潜水泵泵出至表面。这些冰雪融化形成的水可以用于热水钻进的热水供应。这种热熔钻头的预计钻速在雪层可达到2.0~2.5m/h,在冰层可达到1.5m/h,高温液体的流量大约会达到40~50L/min。采用新型热熔钻头,不仅可以节省热水钻系统中在地表把水加热的能量,更可以为热水钻系统提供其所需的热水来源。而其本身也可以作为一种在冰雪层钻进的钻进方式。

【Abstract】 Antarctic,which located in the most south of the Earth,is the coldest continent.It preserve a quantity of information on the ancient climate,paleo-geology,paleontology,which is meaningfully to do research.However,the surface at the Antarctic is covered with ice-firn layer with a depth of 64~115m,which is loosely because it is made up by loosely snow and ice.The hot-water drilling will lose too much hot water and waste lots of energy.To overcome the above question,the new heat-melting drill head is designed.It is suggested that using special independent thermal drilling system to penetrate firn that consists of the reel with 120 m length umbilical hose,mast,electric heater,pump and thermal head.The heat-transfer fluid(e.g.,glycol)is heated on the surface and pumped down through the first channel of the umbilical hose.At the bottom of the hole,heat-transfer fluid passes through the twisted copper tubes in the thermal head that melts snow or firn.Then the heattransfer fluid enters into the uprising channel of the umbilical hose and is recirculated on the surface.The melted water is pumped out from the hole to the surface with the submersible pump installed inside thermal head.Then it is used for watersupply of the main hot-water drilling system.The expected rate of penetration with thermal drill is 2.0~2.5 m/h in firn and1.5 m/h in ice.The required flow rate of heat-transfer fluid is estimated to be 40-50 L/min.Using of such pre-drilling system allows not only to save power for water melting on the surface but also produce additional water for the main hot-water drill system.
