Preparation of first wall material of fusion reactor-W-K and preliminary study of its damage resistance to accelerator protons

【摘要】 Fine-grained micro-potassium doped tungsten samples were synthesized by spark-plasma-sintering(SPS)method using tungsten-potassium(W-K)mixed powder.The potassium content,microstructure and density of the sintered samples were measured.It is found that both sintering temperature and pressure play important roles to obtain high-density and fine-grain sample.By one step sintering method,the relative density(95.6%)of the sample is largely improved than those of the commercial W-K(91.74%)at similar grain size.Through two-step sintering,its grain size becomes smaller and more homogenous than that of the commercial one while showing similar density.The damage resistance to accelerator protons of the samples was also investigated.This study will provide a novel way to synthesize high-density/fine-grain plasma facing material W-K.
