【Abstract】 Mumcipal solid waste incineration(MSWI) fly ash was used as a raw material in preparing sulphoaluminate cement clinker. The effects of MSWI fly ash dosage and alkalinity modulus on the formation of phases in the clinker were investigated. The hydration of calcium sulfoaluminate C4A3 S in the presence of heavy metal were also determined by isothermal conduction calorimetry. The results show that the desirable sulphoaluminate cement clinker can be fired by controlling the compositional parameters like alkalinity modulus(Cm) = 1.00-1.05,alumina-sulfur ratio P = 2.5,and alumina-silica ratio n = 3,and the addition of MSWI fly ash into the raw mixture should not be greater than 30%.The effects of heavy metals on the hydration of C4A3S depend on the types of heavy metals and the addition of gypsum.Without any gypsum addition, heavy metal nitrates such as Cr,Cu,and Zn promote the hydration of C4A3S,whereas Pb presents a strong retardation effect at the early age of C4A3S hydration. When 20%of gypsum is added to C4A3 S,heavy metals tend to accelerate the hydration of the blended pastes except Zn.
