丝阵Z箍缩辐射性能数值模拟

【摘要】 Z箍缩是典型的非线性多尺度强间断多场耦合问题,Z箍缩过程可以很好地用三维辐射磁流体力学(3D Rad-MHD)描述,由于物理过程和控制方程的复杂性,数值模拟在Z箍缩研究中不可或缺。本文利用自主开发的专门用于Z箍缩数值模拟的3D Rad-MHD程序FOI-PERFECT对Z装置上的丝阵负载Z箍缩的X射线辐射性能进行了初步的数值模拟研究,模拟定性和半定量地与实验诊断符合。模拟表明磁-瑞利-泰勒不稳定性(MRT)降低峰值功率,MRT和烧蚀都能够提前峰值时刻,同时烧蚀效应展宽辐射脉冲波形。
【Abstract】 Z-pinch is a typical nonlinear multi-scale multi-field coupling problem with strong discontinuities.Z-pinch process can be well described by a three-dimensional radiation MHD(3D Rad-MHD).Due to the complexity of the physical processes and control equations,numerical simulation is indispensable in the Z-pinch research.In this paper FOI-PERFECT,a 3D Rad-MHD program developed specifically for Z-pinches,is used to model the radiation from wire array Z-pinches performed on Z machine at Sandia National Laboratory of the United States.Simulation results are qualitatively/ semi-quantitatively consistent with experimental diagnosis,though some discrepancies are observed.Magneto-Rayleigh-Taylor(MRT) instability reduces the peak x-ray power of Z-pinches.MRT and ablation are equivalent to the reduction in liner mass in terms of advancing the peak time of radiation.Wire ablation can also broaden the width of radiation pulse.
