近岸海浪的视景建模与仿真

【摘要】 在海洋环境中,海滩与人类的关系非常密切。在海洋环境视景仿真有一项重要内容就是对海滩上的海浪进行仿真。不同于深海风浪区的海浪,除了要考虑风力、重力作用外,海滩上的海浪的建模还应该考虑海滩地形的影响(主要表现为摩擦力)。在风力、重力、摩擦力等的共同作用下,当海浪由深海风浪区涌向海滩时,海浪的形态会发生变化,具体表现在波长、波速以及波的传播方向上的变化(波的折射和反射),在波形上会发生波峰变高、波峰卷曲直至最后波浪破碎等变化。本文系统地研究了涌向海滩的海浪的视景建模与仿真方法,采用了以物理模型为基础上并加以图形学简化的方法进行建模,考虑了海滩地形的对波形的影响。为了提高视景仿真的实时性采用了视点相关的LOD思想,采用粒子系统对海浪破碎形成的飞沫进行了仿真。

【Abstract】 Visual simulation of the natural phenomenon is always a challenge to computer graphics researchers. Ocean wave, as one kind of very complicated natural phenomenon has been the hot spot the visual simulation. Not alike the waves in the fetch area, the waves on beach is much more difficult to be simulated. In addition to wind and gravity, the effects of ocean floor should also be taken into account when modeling of wave on the beach. Under the affects of wind, gravity, friction and so on, when the wave approaches the shore, the wave shape is modified, especially in the wave length, wave celerity, wave height and the wave direction (reflection and refraction) , in the end wave breaks and foams generated. This paper systemically studied the modeling and rendering method of waves approaching to shore, and ocean floor terrain was taken into account. For the sake of the real-time rendering, LOD method was used, and to simulate the foams generated by breaking waves, particle system was employed.
