基于Hermite函数的超宽带脉冲波形设计与性能分析

【摘要】 脉冲波形是超宽带无线通信技术研究中的重要内容。本文根据联邦通信委员会关于超宽带辐射功率谱的限制以及具有很短的持续时间,适用于多址方式的脉冲要求,设计了一组基于Hermite函数的超宽带脉冲波形。所设计的脉冲波形具有正交性和不随脉冲阶数变化的恒定脉宽等两个重要特性,从而提供了良好的防时间抖动性能并有效地降低符号间干扰;为了评估相关接收机的性能,对所设计脉冲信号的自相关和互相关函数的闭合表达式进行了推导;分析了跳时脉位调制超宽带系统中脉冲波形在加性高斯白噪声、多址干扰、多径衰落信道等多种环境下的误码率性能。分析结果表明该脉冲设计方案提供了一种灵活而系统的超宽带脉冲设计方法,所设计脉冲既满足辐射功率谱限制又提供良好的系统误码性能。
【Abstract】 The waveform of pulse is a key research topic in ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communications. According to the constraint of the power spectral emission of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mask concerning UWB and the requirement of pulse having short time duration for multiple access, the paper presents the design of a class of pulses based on Hermite functions for UWB communications. The proposed pulses constitute orthogonal sets and have a constant pulse width regardless of the pulse order, which are important properties since they can offer robustness against timing jitter and effectively reduce inter-symbol interference (ISO- Closed form expressions of auto- and cross-correlation functions of the novel pulses are also given, which are used to evaluate the performance of the correlator receiver. Moreover, the bit error rate (BER) performance of the new pulses in pulse position modulated (PPM) time-hopping (TH) UWB systems are investigated under various channel conditions, including additive white Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel, multiple access interference, and fading multipath channel. It is shown that the pulse design algorithm provides a flexible and systematic method for designing UWB pulses that both conform to spectral emission mask and offer good BER performance.
