【Abstract】 This paper introduces the VLSI architecture of the Turbo decoder. From the principles of Turbo coding and decoding, we developed the architecture of the general architecture of Turbo decoder. At the same time, we described the architecture of branch transferring metrics unit, forward (backward) state metrics calculation unit and Log-likelihood Ratio calculation unit.
