The application of CAE method in the research of side impact safety

【摘要】 <正>The side impact accidents may cause severe injuries to the occupants in passenger cars. In consequence, the research of side impact safety deserves more comprehensive and thorough consideration. At present, finite element analysis has proven to be a powerful tool of Computer Aid Engineering (CAE) method in analyzing various physical phenomenons. This paper aims to demonstrate the advantages of applying CAE method in side impact safety research by exploring the relationship between some specific impact factors and side impact safety and optimizing the design of one vehicle side door trim product by applying CAE methods. In conclusion, the optimization target is achieved and the CAE methods play an important role in the research and design of the vehicle side impact safety.
