【Abstract】 Many documents confirmed that there were chemicals functioning as oviposition deterrent in many kinds of plants. Many of the plant secondary compounds are potential oviposition deterrents for Plutella xylostella (L. ) and Pierrris rapae. Oviposition by a particular insect may be deterred by compounds that occur at high levels in unsuitable plants, but not in suitable plants. We think that study on oviposition of insects plays a very important role in decoding the ovipositional behaviors, developing new types of pest insect controlling techniques, and co-evolutionary relalion-ship between herbivore insect and plants.更多还原
