【Abstract】 The mechanism of carbon pickup by ultra - low - carbon steels during continuous casting is described. The major cause is the contact of the molten steel with the powder. The for-mation of an enriched - carbon layer is due to the existence of "carbon core". The new powder has been successfully used to minimize carbon pickup by ultra - low - carbon steels during continuous casting.更多还原
