硅丙乳液聚合粒子尺寸及粒径分布演变过程的研究

【摘要】 <正>有机硅改性丙烯酸酯聚合物乳液因其优异的性能近年来受到了研究者广泛的关注,但这些研究还主要集中在乳液聚合工艺、有机硅单体的分子结构与聚合物性能的关系等方面川,而对乳液聚合过程中乳胶粒子的形成及增长。粒径大小及分布的演变过程涉及很少。本研究采用新型支化有机硅单体MPTS(3-甲基丙烯酰氧基丙基三(三甲基硅氧基)硅烷)制备了稳定的高硅含量P(BA-MMA-MPTS)共聚乳液,利用动态激光光散射法测定了种子半连续乳液聚合

【Abstract】 organosilicon-acrylate latexes with high silicon content were prepared in seeded semibatch emulsion polymerization using BA, MMA and a novel branched organosilicon as the monomers. The evolution of the particle size and its distribution during the polymerization were characterized by dynamic lights scattering. The results indicated that, in addition to micellar nucleation, there was coagulative nucleation process caused by branched organosilicon monomer, which can play an important role in the organosilicon-acrylate emulsion polymerization process. As a result, the particle number of the silicon-acrylate latexes increased, the average particle diameter decreased and with the increase in polymerization rate comparing with the acrylate latexes without organosilicon monomer. At the same time, the particle size distribution presented bimodal curves which indicated that there were large particles formed in the early stage of the emulsion polymerization, in the later stage, the particle size distribution curves became monomodal, the final latex showed narrow particle size distribution.
