具有不同疏水链和亲水头基的两性离子表面活性剂的合成及聚集性质研究
Synthesis and Aggregation Properties of Three Series of Zwitterionic Surfactants with Varying Hydrophobic Alkyl Chain Length and Ionic Head Groups

【Abstract】 Three series of zwitterionic surfactants with various of hydrophobic alkyl chain and flexible or rigid spacer have been synthesized. The experiment results indicated that the CMC values of surfactants in series Ⅰ and Ⅲ decrease dramatically with increasing hydrophobic alkyl chain length, while the Cs = –(CH2)6– was the critical length of the spacer for series Ⅱ, where the CMC and surface excess concentration (Γmax) reach the maximum and minimum, respectively. The enthalpies of micelle formation (?Hmic) for series Ⅰ and Ⅲ decrease with the increase of chain length. Especially, the ?Hmic values of series Ⅰ decrease from small positive value to negative value with an increase in the hydrophobic alkyl chain length. In addition, due to the π–π interactions among the adjacent phenyl groups, the surfactant with p–xylyl group as spacer has the largest ?Hmic and the smallest micelle ionization degree (α) in series Ⅱ. DLS results presented that the aggregate sizes of C10C6Tri, C14C8Tri and C14C10Tri change significantly with the surfactant concentration above the CMC, while only small aggregates are formed by series Ⅲ at 10 CMC.
