【Abstract】 The interaction mechanism of two kinds of sulfated chitosans with DNA are investigated through fluorescence spectra,absorption spectra and alkaline denaturation cures et.al. The results indicated that the sulfated chitosans bind to DNA by two models, i.e., intercalative and electrostatic binding. DNA ultraviolet absorption spectra had an evident hyperchromic effect in the presence of CT-H or CT-L; the stability of luminescence system was increased with the increase of alkaline denaturation pH of CT-H. In the meantime, the cationic Mg2+ was mainly electrostatic binding with the phosphate groups of DNA, which resulted in weakening of intercalative binding of EB.
