【Abstract】 The effect of two ternary complexes Ln(Gly)4Im(ClO4)3·H2O (Ln=Gd, Dy; Gly:glycine; Im: imidazole) on the growth of microbes (Escherichia coli, Bacillus subilis, Staphylococcus aureus) was studied by means of Calvet microcalorimeter. The calculated growth rate constants for three microbes in the presence of above two complexes are all less than the corresponding microbes alone. The inhibitory effects for both complexes on Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis are more evident than Staphylococcus aureus.
