高密度多重信息存储有机薄膜研究
Multifunctional Organic Thin Film for High Density Data Storage

【Abstract】 The explosive increasing of information and the miniaturization of electronic devices demand new recording technologies and materials that combine high density, fast response, long retention time and re-writing capability. High density data storage at nanometer/molecular-scale based on magnetic, optic, or electric bistability has attracted great attention in recent years. Here we report a novel organic thin film of1-Ferrocenyl-2-(l-methyl-4-pyridiniumy1) ethylene nitrate prepared by a vacuum deposition method. The film exhibits both magnetic and electrical bistabilities at room-temperature. Further recording experiments have been performed with a scanning tunneling microscope, which confirmed that the thin film could certainly be applied for nanoscale data storage. This work would provide a new strategy to devise organic multifunctional material for high-density information storage.
