【Abstract】 The wettability of solid surfaces is a very important property, and is governed by both the chemical composition and the geometrical microstructure of the surface.[1] Recently, stimuli responsive polymers, such as intelligent microfluidic switch,[2] reversibly controlling the surface wettability[3] has aroused great interest and been realized by modifying the surface with stimuli-responsive organic compounds. Reversible switching between hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity, can be realized in a relatively wide pH range of about 10. In the surface-initiated atom-transfer radical polymerization, we introduced pH responsive PAAc thin films into the prepared substrates.
