【Abstract】 With the constant demand for higher density integrated circuits, traditional Si based techniques are facing increasing technological and economical challenges. Organic semiconductors consisting high conjugated structure, that are electrically conductivity, are considered to be the most attractive next generation materials for nano-scale electronic devices. Molecular wires, highly conjugated linear molecules, are among the most important elements for fabricating molecular devices. To date, the factors affecting the electronic properties of molecular wires are still under investigation. In this work, self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of a series of functionalized molecular wires are fabricated, and their electronic properties are probed by electrochemical and spectroscopic approaches.
