半导体可饱和吸收镜启动的固体锁模激光器的研究进展

【摘要】 半导体可饱和吸收镜在超短脉冲激光器中被广泛应用。特别是在LD泵浦的固态锁模激光器中,半导体可饱和吸收镜几乎独领风骚,是不可或缺的被动锁模器件。但是在具有高上能级寿命的固态激光器中,可饱和吸收体的引入往往会使激光器有强烈的调Q趋势。本文介绍了我们设计和制作的半导体可饱和吸收镜。通过优化可饱和吸收体的参数,极大地抑制了固态激光器的调Q趋势。介绍了我们的半导体可饱和吸收镜在Yb:YAG,Yb:YAB,VECSEL,Nd:GdVO4等激光器中的实验结果。
【Abstract】 Diode pumped solid-sate materials are very attractive for compact, low cost and even high power laser sources. The mode locking of those lasers is also a very common way of producing high peak powers. SESAMs are widely used because their simplicity, compactness, monolithic and potentially low cost. The main problem in operating solid state lasers in mode locking is the self-Q-switching instability. We have developed the SESAM for mode locking of lasers. The modulation depth and the recovery time of the SESAM are estimated as 0.22% and 0.5 ps respectively. In this paper, we introduce our newly designed SESAM and application in mode locked in Yb:YAG, Yb:YAB Nd:GdVO4 and VECSEL lasers.
