自发辐射相干相位控制原子系统光学特性

【摘要】 在近兼并或者等间距的三能级原子系统中,自发辐射由于偶极跃迁矩阵元间的非正交性可以诱导产生相干。我们系统地研究了自发辐射相干对相干驱动的原子系统光学特性的影响,发现自发辐射相干的存在导致系统对相干驱动场间的相对相位非常敏感:(1)相对相位显著影响系统的稳态演化速率(时间尺度);(2)考虑相干退相效应时,相位控制可以实现电磁感应透明和吸收的相互转换:(3)置于环形光腔中研究非线性动力学特性发现自发辐射相干可以诱导产生光学双稳,相位控制可实现双稳和多稳的转换等等。

【Abstract】 In the nearly degenerated or equispaced three level atomic systems, the inference from the spontaneous, due to the non-orthornality of the two dipole transition moments, can be induced. We in detail investigate the effect of spontaneously generated coherence on the optical property of atomic systems driven by two strong coherent fields. It is found, due to the spontaneously generated coherence, that the probe-pump response is very sensitive to the relative phase of the two coherent fields. (1) The relative phase significantly affects the time evolution scale to the coherent population trapping state; (2) Phase control can make electromagnetically generated transparency (EIT) and absorption (EIA) transform mutually if taking the collisional dephasing into account; (3) Investigating the nonlinear dynamics in a ring cavity, spontaneously generated coherence can induce optical bistability, and by adjusting the relative phase, bistability and multistability can transform mutually, etc.
