【Abstract】 There are various fossils of Ostracoda in the Cretaceous of western Yun- nan.After exhaustive study on many years we have made a clear basic form. Three distinct fossil assemblages of Ostracoda evidently had divided,from bottom to top as follows: A lower assemblage……U J D assemblage.Cypridea (Ulwellia)……Jin- gguella……Damonella.To Jing-xing(景星)formation. A middle assemblage……M C Z assemblage.Monosulcocypris……Cypridea (Pseudocypridina,Morinia)……Ziziphocypris.To Man Gang (曼岗) formation. A upper assemblage……C C Q assemblage.Cypridea (Cypridea)……Cristoc- ypridea……Sinocypris (Quadrocypris).To Mankuan (曼宽) formation. These assemblags of Ostracoda fauna on vertical evolution of changes coincided with trisectence of rocks assemblage and geographic distribution. For this reason on study of Ostracoda,thl autlor has put forward anidea of Cretaceous trisectence since 1979. The Early Tertiary assemblage of Ostracoda is clearly different from the Cretaceous.Both boundary should be derided between disappear of Cyprides ……Cristocypridea……Quadracypris assembl age and appear of Sinocypris…… Cypris (Cristocypris)……Parailyocyipris assemblage.This is to deride bet- ween Mankuan and Meng Yezhin formation. In this paper are also discsed the assemblage contents of Ostracoda and the question about period in deetail.
