【Abstract】 Based on the study of the fluid inclusions of 20 orebearing porphyry and barren porphyry bodies along the Yu Long porphyry copper(molybde- num)deposit belt,the authors are under the impression that these two types of porphyry bodies can be discriminated by means of the following different characters of their fluid inclusions. Ore-bearing porphyry Barren porphyry 1.Type Gaseous inclusion,poly-phase inclusion and liquid inclusion. 2.Temperatures of homogeniz- ation Mainly liquid inclusion and scarcely poly-phase inclusion. 600-180℃. 3.Pressvres of the moment of homogenization 240-1800 atm 4.Salinity <10-18m NaCl+KCl 5.Daughter minerals halite,sylvite,hematite, anhydrite and pyrite(?). 6.Ratio of gas to liquid 5-95% 7.Revival boiling repeated. 8.Evolution of thermal fluid late-magma stage-pneumatoly- tic stage-high-low hydrother- real stage(magmatic water and meteoric groundwater. 350-100℃. 240-747 arm. 10m NaCl. halite only. 5-35% no. intermediate-low hydro- thermal stage only (consisting mainly of meteoric groundwater).
