【Abstract】 Arnebia euchroma (Royle.) Johnst. is a plant with wide uses. Shikonin derivatives, extracted from Arnebia euchroma (Royle.) Johnst., were extensively applied in medical treatment, food and other fields. The amount of natural Arnebia euchroma (Royle.) Johnst. have sharply decreased due to over exploitation by human beings. In recent years ,in order to solve the shortage of resources and to protect environment,many researches have been carried out in tissue culture of Arnebia euchroma (Royle.) Johnst..
