【Abstract】 Carotenoid significantly influences the quality and usability of tobacco.This review has concisely introduced tobacco carotenoid in physical, chemical and biological characters , mainly focused on biosynthetic mechanism, regulation of biosyntheses , physiological effect .changes of carotenoid in the process of maturity and flu-curing.
