【Abstract】 With the metropolitanization in US in the early 20^th century,Megalopolis represented typically by the Northeast seaboard Megalopolitan area in US emerged. Focusing on Regional Planning,the conception of urban development,many outstanding scholars such as Munford,Gottmann,Fishman and Lang have been exploring Megalopolis from its various aspects since early 20^th century,their tbinking and ideas have created significant influence upon several academic fields,such as Regional Economy and Urban Social Geography.The paper draws the outline of the origin and process of Megalopolis thinking during the past 100 years in the West.更多还原
