【Abstract】 The computer technology has filtered the social life at all levels, the children has also included in which. The traditional user interface for adult should be designed to be distinguished with the children. However, many current child multimedia teaching software in China often has actually neglected this point, the User interface is completely adult-style and has not carried on any design and analysis in view of the user interface. These softwares have not manifested the user and computer’s interactive performance truly, also does not display the computer multimedia superiority fully, is far from the outstanding contact surface, the interactive design, so it is difficult to achieve the original intention of software design. This paper researches the User Interface Design for Children based on the theory of user-interface, usability and psychology. This paper takes the interface design of the multimedia English CAI system as example. First, through to the existing child English multimedia teaching software’s investigation, many deficiencies in the interface design aspect have been discovered. Secondly, through the stages of children of different ages being investigated and the findings of the investigation being analyzed, the three different roles of a typical user group of children are summarized. Next some more representative children are selected from from the kindergarten and the elementary school and a typical user needs priority list is summed up. And according as the typical user needs priority list, some attentive issues and the rules abided by children’s multi-media teaching software interface design are summed up and in accordance with these rules, the Beta of children’s multimedia English learning system are developed. Then some selected different ages of children are done the interface tests by the Beta version in the usability laboratory, a number of issues are found from the Beta version and revised, thus the final version is obtained. Finally, the last of interface usability testing ard done once again and found that this interface is accord with the characteristics of the child, the child is very easy to operate, so the objective of the study is achieved.更多还原
