Sedimentary arsenite-oxidizing and arsenate-reducing bacteria associated with high arsenic groundwater from Shanyin,Datong Basin,China

【摘要】 <正>Chronic drinking of arsenic contaminated tubewell groundwater has made many people developing arsenicosis in Datong Basin of China.Microbial population associated with these arsenic enrichments has not been evaluated so far.In this study,we identified arsenite-oxidizing bacteria,arsenate-reducing bacteria,arsenite oxidase genes and analyzed the major arsenic resistant bacteria from an arsenic contaminated sediment site in Shanyin County of Datong Basin.
