β-胡萝卜素、维生素E和C干预对老年认知功能影响的研究

【摘要】 目的探讨不同剂量β-胡萝卜素(β-C)、维生素E(VE)和维生素C(VC)干预对老年人群认知功能的影响。方法在知情同意的原则下选择60-75岁的老年人300人并随机分为五组:第1组VC 300mg+VE 200mg+β-C 16.7mg;第2组VC 300mg+VE 200mg+β-C 8.4mg;第3组VC 300mg+VE 200mg+ β-C 5.6mg;第4组VC 300mg+VE 200mg;第5组:VE 5mg。用简易智力状态量表(Mini Mental State Exami- nation,MMSE)、长谷川痴呆量表(Hasegawa Dementia Scale,HDS)测认知功能;用放射免疫法测血浆β-淀粉样蛋白(Aβ)和雌二醇(E2)。结果干预后第1、2组MMSE和HDS平均得分与干预后第5组比较,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),干预后第1、2组HDS平均得分与干预前第1、2组两两比较,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);干预后第1组血浆E2水平高于其干预前(P<0.05),也高于干预后第5组(P<0.05), 结论β-胡萝卜素、维生素E和C联合补充可提高老年人群血浆中E2的含量,改善老年人群的认知功能。
【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effect of β-earotene ( β-c) , vitamin E and C supplementation on cognitive function in the elderly residents. Methods A prospective study was designed for the supplemental trial. 300 old subjects aged from 60y to 75y, 128 males and 172 females were randomized into 5 groups; group 1 supplemented with ( VC 300mg + VE 200mg + β-C 16mg) /d, group 2 with ( VC 300mg + VE 200mg + β-C 8. 4mg) /d, group 3 with ( VC 300mg + VE 200mg +β-C 5. 6mg) /d, group 4 with ( VC 300mg + VE 200mg) /d, group 5 with VE 5mg/d. The trial lasted for 16 weeks. All subjects were asked to make a note of nutrient intake for every day and handled it to the investigators during the trial. The investigators followed-up and supervised the subjects irregularly. Mini Mental State Examination ( MMSE) , Hasegawa Dementia Scale ( HDS) were used to evaluate the cognitive function of the elderly subjects before and after the trial.β-amyloid protein and estradiol in plasma were determined by radiommunoassay with kits. All the data was analyzed. Results Results showed that the average scores of the cognitive function evaluated by MMSE and HDS in group 1 and group 2 were much higher than group 5 after the trial (P <0. 05) , and the average scores tested by HDS in the 1 and 2 groups after the trial were much higher than those before the trial (P < 0. 05 ) ; The level of estradiol in group 1 increased much higher than group 5 after the trial (P < 0. 05 ) , The level of β-amyloid protein in plasma had the decreasing tendency from group 1 to 5, but it had no significant ( P > 0. 05) . Conclusion Supplementation of β-carotene, combined with vitamin E and C could enhance the level of estradiol in plasma and improve cognitive function as well in the elderly subjects. However, the mechanism of the effect, the dosage and the time of the apply needs to be further studied.
