级联长周期光纤光栅全光开关的研究
Study of the All-optical Switching based on Cascaded Long-period Fiber Grating

【摘要】 提出并数值模拟了用掺饵光纤级联长周期光纤光栅的全光开关器件,相比单个长周期全光开关器件,它在降低开关的阈值功率和提高开关的消光比方面具有显具的优势。数值结果表明该器件有望发展成为全光通信领域内具有重要应用值的器件。
【Abstract】 A new all-optical switching based on cascaded long-period fiber grating(LPFG) using a Er3+-doped fiber is proposed and analyzed.Compared with the single long period fiber grating switching,the cascaded LPFG switching has evident merits in reducing the threshold of switching power and increasing extinction ratio.The numerical result demonstrated that this cascaded LPFG swiching could be developed as a very promising device for future all-optical communication network.
