【Abstract】 This paper analyzes the modularity of large-sized enterprises from the following perspectives: the division of labor, the transaction cost, the organizational theories and the evolutionary theory. The author thinks that the emergence of modular organizations results from the evolution of division economy. Information technology and the rapid development of internet are technical drivers for the emergence of modular organizations while problems in hierarchical organizations are internal drivers. Modular organizations result from the natural evolution of large-sized enterprises.更多还原
