【Abstract】 The hybrid assembly is one of an effective way of construct novel nano-structured architectures with different functions.Here,we present a new strategy of characterization the formation of micellar hybrid assembly system byelectrochemical method.In this work,the hybrid system was formed by Gemini surfactant(12-12-12) micelles and hydrogelator N,N’-diphenyl-methyl-L-cysteine(DBC) supramolecular aggregates.Electrochemical probe methylene blue(MB) was employed to monitor the formation of the hybrid system.The results show that the difference of formal potential of MB(△E0,) of aqueous solution and 12-12-12 micellar solution is only 6.5 mV,and it is independent of the surfactant concentration;However,AE0’ of MB of DBC/12-12-12 hybrid assembly system and DBC assembly system is 46.5 mV and it exhibits a significant increase with the increase of 12-12-12 micelle concentration,indicating that the hydrophobic microenvironment in the micellar hybrid assembly system is gradually increased.The fluorescence micrographs show that MB solubilizes in micellar hybrid supramolecular systems.The peak current of MB decreased in the hybrid assembly system,suggested that the micellar hybrid assembly system hinder the diffusion of the MB.It was also founded the diffusion coefficient of MB in micellar hybrid assembly system decreased compared with that in DBC assembly system due to the dense structure of the hybrid assembly system.Compared to the traditional characterization method,such as electron microscopy or fluorescence spectra,the electrochemical approach can characterize the formation process of hybrid assembly system simply and accurately.
