【Abstract】 The emergence and recent advance of nano-science and nano-technology provide new opportunities for the application of nano-materials in biochemical analysis.The marriage of nano-materials and biochemical molecules to form novel nano-bio probes has great potential for biochemical analysis applications,such as clinic diagnosis,food and drug analysis,environmental protection,and so on,which integrates both the unique structural and photophysical features of nano-materials and the fascinating properties of biochemical molecules.In this study,we combined nanotechnology with biological molecules engineering technology to develop the new biological detection methods involved function biological molecules(such as: nucleic acid,polypeptide) as recognition components.Some colorimetric probes have been presented for biochemical applications utilizing metal nanoparticles as color indicator,such as water quality evaluation(SO 4 2),heavy metal ion pollution monitoring(Ag +,Hg 2+,Cd 2+,Co 2+ and Ni 2+),the rapid detection of pollutants in food(phthalates),and chiral enantiomer discrimination and separation(cysteine) and colorimetric detection of aluminium(III) on living cellular surfaces.
