【Abstract】 A new method for the determination of trace amount of malachite green from aqueous solution by spectrophotometry after cloud point extraction has been proposed.The optimum extraction and reaction conditions.such as the acidity of the solution,surfactants and equilibrium temperature and time,interfering ions on the effect of cloud point extraction.Under the optimum(pH3.5 in buffer solution 5.0mL,5% of TritonX-100 1.0mL,75℃ water bath 25min),the malachite green was extracted into the surfactant TritonX-100 phase and water phase separately.The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of trace amount of malachite green in real water sample.
