一种基于二维正方晶格光子晶体的环形耦合腔波导的光传输特性

【摘要】 本文利用时域有限差分方法,系统研究了基于二维正方晶格光子晶体的环形谐振腔波导的光传输特性。发现相对于在光子晶体同一排介质柱中间隔性去掉若干介质柱所组成的传统耦合腔波导,该种新型环形谐振腔由于尺寸的增加具有了更加丰富的缺陷模式。并且可以通过将相邻环形腔在垂直于传播方向上进行交错排列,从而实现了群速度的进一步降低,最终实现了群速度降低到0.000667倍真空光速。
【Abstract】 The light characteristics through the annular coupled-resonator cavity waveguides based on the two-dimensional square-lattice photonic crystal is analyzed with the finite-difference time-domain method in this paper.It is found that this kind of cavity has more resonator frequencies owing to the increasing of the cavity’s size,comparing to the traditional coupled-resonator waveguide consisting of removing the dielectric cylinders over a certain distance from the same line.The group velocity of light propagation can be reduced for a certain degree when the adjacent annular cavities are interlaced in the perpendicular direction,and a group velocity about 0.001 times the light velocity in vacuum can be obtained.
