【Abstract】 Stable-isotope ratio analysis is an important tool for geology,meteorology,and earth sciences.Measurements of water vapor isotope ratio are especially important in global water circulation for it can reveal the water source and vapor transmission process.Since it has strong absorption in infrared wavelength,it is suitable for high sensitive absorption spectra.The spectroscopy of direct absorption measurement of water isotope with the room-temperature pulsed quantum cascade laser has been introduced.The measurement relies on the frequency down-chirp that is induced when a current pulse is applied to a QC laser as a result of local heating during the pulse.This down-chirp may cover a wave number range of up to 2.5cm-1 and can be used for sweeping across an absorption line to provide a real time display of the spectral feature.Combining with a multipass cell,this technology can satisfy the need for high sensitivity and accuracy.The results show that this experimental apparatus can fulfill the measurement of water vapor isotope in the atmosphere.
