【Abstract】 In this paper,a new conception of the composite interlinkwise vortex structure is proposed and the Huangling-Shennongjia composite interlinkwise vortex structure system is identified. The composite interlinkwise vortex structure is a expansion of individual vortex structure,and refers to a group of vortex structures developed on a regional scale in certain area,a series of multi-order interlinkwise vortex structures formed through the pushing of the mediumsized vortex structures by megavortex structure,and of the minor vortex structure by the mediumsized ones. The Huangling-Shennongjia composite interlinkwise vortex structure system developed in the western part of Hubei Province is a large syntaxial system of composite interlinkwise vortex structures,arranged at random in the appearance but concordantly in essence,that consists of two different structural types:the three megavortex structures,namely the Huangling interlink-shaped structure,the Shennongjia interlink-shaped structure and the Shennongjia-Huangling-Jingshan-Jianghan plain"η"-type structure as the master part of it,and the another five minor vortex structures,namely the Qianjiang vortex structure,the Maping vortex structure,the Longmaxi vortex structure,the Zigui vortex structure,and the Xianglu-Wulong vortex as the subordinate portion of it.It has an area of more than 50,000 square kilometers. The Huangling Shennongjia composite interlink-shaped vortex structure system represents a type of tectonics newly-developed on the Lackground of repeated destruction of the NW-trending tectonic belt,the latitudinal tectonic belt,the Huaiyang"∈"-type tectonic system,and Neocathaysian tectonic system,and under the impulse of a extensive and strong movement creating the composite interlink-shaped vortex structures by inheriting and modifying the structural elements of the above-mentioned tectonic system. The Huangling-Shennongjia composite interlinkwise vortex structure system took its embryonic shape at the late stage of Yenshanian movement and obtained its fixed form at the early stage of Himalaya movement,and ever since been active up to present.
