基于顶点曲率范数的网格简化算法
Simplify Triangles based on Vertex Curvature Norm

【摘要】 本文基于三角网格的边压缩方法,提出一种采用顶点曲率范数作为简化网格的误差衡量准则来简化三角网格的方法。该方法对有高曲率区域的三维模型的简化非常有效,误差较小。同时,在边压缩后,采用蝶状网格细分模板来确定新顶点的位置,保证了简化后的模型与原始模型的形状保持一致。实验证明,该方法不仅误差小,简化效率高,同时具有运行稳定和适用性强等优点。
【Abstract】 A new error-metric method named vertex curvature norm is proposed in this paper during simplifying triangles, which is based on edge collapse.It is greatly effective to the 3D models with high curvature regions.At the same time,a butterfly subdivision mask is used to choose the position of the new vertex after edge collapse,which can keep the simplified model as similar as the original one.Experiments show that the given method is little error,efficient and stable and applicable.
