一种基于触屏手机的家居设备通用监控器

【摘要】 家庭网络基础设施和网络化家居设备的普及与发展,使得用户在智能家居中随时随地监控家居设备成为可能。用户随身携带的触屏手机因具有直接操作、便捷易得的特点,成为智能家居中设备监控的理想界面。因此,本文提出了一种基于触屏手机的家居设备通用监控器HouseGenie,以方便用户随时随地的监视网络化家居设备的实时状态,并直观自然的操控设备完成所需任务。本文详细论述了HouseGenie及后台提供设备状态与操作接口的智能家居中央服务器的设计思想与系统架构,并阐述了HouseGenie所提供的二维俯视全景图状态监视、结合Pie-Menu与列表模式的单/群组设备操作、基于"拖拽"隐喻的多设备协作控制等多种自然直观的交互方式。通过10人参与的基于实验室的可控用户研究,本文验证了HouseGenie方法的有效性与交互的自然直观性。

【Abstract】 The monitoring and controlling of home devices suffer from the isolated interfaces on each device in traditional home, where users have to use the specific remote controller to interact with one device. Moreover, only little coordination of these home devices exists, mostly static though, that users could hardly establish the dynamical coordination between devices. As the development of networked devices for easy and convenient digital life in smart home environment throughout the industrialized world, as well as the prevalent network and Wifi home infrastructures, it turns out to be possible to monitor and control the home devices remotely, and to dynamically establish coordination between them. Touch-screen phone roaming with people features high accessibility and direct-manipulation interaction, regarded as one of the most convenient interfaces for domestic life. In this paper, we present HouseGenie, the monitor and controller for networked home devices based on touch-screen phone for smart home. HouseGenie wirelessly communicates with the Smart-Home-Portal (SHP) to get the updated device status and to dispatch the corresponding commands. SHP maintains the status and interfaces of all the networked devices through varies protocols. With the help of SHP, HouseGenie facilitates intuitive and direct-manipulated interaction experience for users to monitor and control home devices, including: 1) visualizing the current status of all the networked devices in panoramic view; 2) direct manipulating single/grouped device(s) by finger touch using pie-menu or list-mode; 3) dynamical establishing device-to-device coordination by drag-drop gestures, such as screen sharing and content-to-device connecting. A controlled user study with 10 participants is designed and conducted, in which positive result demonstrates the intuitive usability and effectiveness of HouseGenie.
