【摘要】 英汉两种语言中都有一词多义现象。这种现象有共性,但是也有很大区别。英语的一词多义大多是词汇本义的引申或展衍,鲜见一个词具有与其本义互不相干的词义。由于很多古汉语词汇存在于现代汉语之中,汉语的一词多义常常出现与其本义不相干的情况。本文举例说明以上诸点,希望深化对英汉一词多义现象的认识,从而提高英汉翻译的质量。更多还原

【Abstract】 Polysemy is a common character of both the Chinese and the English languages.Although polysemants in these two languages share similarities,there are tremendous differences between them.English polysemants are extensions of their basic meanings,often accompanied by changes in the parts of speech and or even in their forms.However, many modern Chinese words down from ancient Chinese vocabulary carry diverse meanings that may have no connections with their connotations.This paper presents examples to support the above points.The author hopes that it may help deepen the understanding of the polysemous phenomena,which will help improve the quality of translation between these two languages.更多还原
