甲基苯基二-(甲氧二乙基)硅烷用作锂离子电池功能性添加剂的研究

【摘要】 锂离子电池由于其高电压、高能量密度和低自放电等优势而为消费市场广泛接受。同时,极地科考和航天事业的发展对锂离子的低温性能提出了更高的要求。然而,目前商业化锂离子电池普遍采用的碳酸乙烯酯(EC)基电解液只能在—20℃以上工作。碳酸丙烯酯(PC)虽然具有良好的低温性能,却会与锂离子共嵌入石墨结构中,造成石墨的剥离。甲基苯基二-(甲氧二乙基)硅烷(MPBMDS)可以在石墨表面形成SEI膜,从而保护石墨结构。另一方面,随着锂离子电池在电动汽车中的应用,其安全性能越来越受到关注。目前广泛使用的锂离子电池仍为有机相电解液,易燃,安全性差。甲基苯基二-(甲氧二乙基)硅烷可用作阻燃剂,提高锂离子电池的热稳定性,降低其可燃性,提高其安全性能。
【Abstract】 Methyl phenyl bis-methoxydiethoxy silane(MPBMDS) was prepared and its effects were investigated as an additive in 1.0mol/1 LiPF6-propylene carbonate(PC)/dimethyl carbonate(DMC)(1:1,v/v) electrolyte for lithium ion batteries.The electrochemical properties of the electrolyte with MPBMDS were characterized by discharge/charge tests,cyclic voltammetry,scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).It was found that the addition of MPBMDS can effectively prevent the decomposition and the co-intercalation of PC.In addition,burning tests showed that the addition of 4-13wt%MPBMDS into the bare PC-based electrolyte could effectively reduce the flammability.This kind of eco-friendly compound provides a new promising direction to develop bi- and/or multi-functions additives for lithium ion batteries.
