【摘要】 在全球经济危机和国内经济形势日益严峻的压力下,中国制造业能否实现产业升级是理论界和政策制定者共同关心的重要问题。实际上,中国改革开放后东部沿海地区的制造业产业集群在经历着各类危机的同时,不断实现质量的提升。然而,现有研究尚未深入探讨危机与制造业产业集群质量升级的内在机理。本文通过对浙江省典型产业集群质量升级过程的案例分析,发现重大危机往往会引发地方政府和企业家的集体行动,合适的行动会促进产业集群质量的升级。本文构建了一个简单的理论模型阐释上述思想,进而利用浙江1990-2006年的面板数据检验了理论假设。更多还原

【Abstract】 There is an increasing concern about whether China’s manufacturing sector can weather the current world financial crisis and successfully upgrade its product quality along the global supply chain. In fact, since China opened up in the late 1970s, the manufacturing sector has experienced numerous shocks, yet the quality of Chinese products has improved tremendously. Crisis has been serving as a pressure mechanism to induce institutional and technological innovations for quality upgrade. However, the literature has been largely silent about the link between crisis and quality upgrade. This paper develops a theoretical framework to show that a crisis, if used wisely, could provide a good opportunity for entrepreneurs and local governments to form collective actions to improve product quality in a cluster. Based on a panel data set from 1990 to 2006 covering over one hundred clusters in Zhejiang Province, the paper empirically tests the hypothesis.更多还原
