Effects of the Chirp on State Selection with a Ultrashort Pulse Pair

【摘要】 <正>By solving Density Matrix equation the effects of the pulse chirp on the state selection are investigated.We prove that the state selection with more population in the target state can be realized by tuning the laser detuning,as long as the repetition period of the pulse pair and the chirp parameter are chosen appropriately.The results can be applied to various applications which require the state preparation and selection.
