【Abstract】 By examining the history and ideas about international games in ancient Greece and Rome,I try to consider the Olympic Games in a broad context of ancient political and cultural institutions in this essay.I argue that on the one hand,these games did improve harmony and peace among difference cities,but on the other hand,it also offered a chance for these cities to exhibit their independence,strength,and nationalism.Ancient games,like their modern counterpart,are a comnbination of internationalism and nationalism.更多还原
