预辐照接枝对碳纤维表面及复合材料界面的影响

【摘要】 碳纤维与树脂基体的弱界面粘接一直是制约树脂基碳纤维复合材料广泛应用的重要因素之一。本文通过γ射线预辐照接枝的方法改善碳纤维表面惰性,提高复合材料的界面性能。在惰性气体的保护下将碳纤维置于密闭容器中,经γ射线辐照后与环氧氯丙烷混合,使环氧氯丙烷在碳纤维表面发生接枝反应,在碳纤维表面引入了极性官能团,进而提高碳纤维与环氧树脂基体间的界面粘接强度。采用X射线光电子能谱(XPS)对碳纤维表面的化学状态进行表征,通过层间剪切强度(ILSS)对改性效果进行评价,借助SEM对复合材料的断口形貌进行分析。实验结果表明,在300kGy辐照剂量下碳纤维经预辐照接枝处理后表面含氧官能团的数量大幅度增加,碳纤维增强环氧树脂复合材料ILSS提高了18.2%,碳纤维与环氧树脂基体之间的界面粘接被改善。γ射线预辐照接枝改性技术具有改性效果明显、成本低、绿色环保和易批量处理等优点,是一种非常有前途的碳纤维表面改性技术。
【Abstract】 A special technique usingγ-ray pre-irradiation was applied to the modification of carbon fibers.The pre-irradiated carbon fibers were grafted by chloroepoxy propane.The amount of containing-oxygen functional groups was found to increase significantly after pre-irradiation grafting.The interlaminar shear strength(ILSS) of treated carbon fiber/epoxy was enhanced by 18.2%,compared with that of untreated carbon fiber/epoxy.The process of irradiation grafting was proposed by radical reactions.The pre-irradiation grafting is a high efficient,convenient and well-industrialized method for modifying the physicochemical properties of carbon fibers and improving the interfacial adhesion of composites.
