凝胶注模新工艺制备超轻质氧化铝陶瓷
Alumina Ceramics with Ultra-Low Density Fabricated by a Novel Gel-Casting Technique

【摘要】 凝胶注模工艺通常被用来制备高致密度的陶瓷部件,而在本研究中则介绍了利用该工艺制备轻质(相对密度为8%~40%)氧化铝陶瓷材料的方法。在叔丁醇(TBA)中实现了丙烯酰胺单体聚合,以固相体积分数为5%~15%的Al2O3/TBA悬浮体为基础,所获得的超轻质坯体干燥收缩率很小,而且具有较高的强度(1MPa~3MPa)。通过调整初始固相体积分数以及烧结温度,氧化铝陶瓷的气孔率可以在60%~92%内变化,气孔率达到92%的氧化铝烧结体比表面积达到14m2/g,抗压强度超过10MPa。这项工艺方法拓宽了凝胶注模成型工艺的领域,表现出了良好的应用前景。
【Abstract】 Gel-casting is a conventional technique used to fabricate high density ceramic parts;however,in this work,alumina ceramics with ultra-low density(8%~40%of theoretical density)were successfully fabricated by this method.In this research,polymerization of acrylamide was realized in alumina/t-butyl alcohol(TBA)slurries with solid loading ranging from 5 to 15 vol%.Green bodies with ultra-low density could be dried with very small shrinkage,and relatively high green strengths(1MPa~3MPa)were achieved.By choosing different initial solid loadings and sintering temperatures,the microstructure of sintered porous ceramics could be effectively controlled,with the porosity ranging from 60%to 92%.Sintered alumina showed high open porosity(90%),high specific area(14m~2/g)and high compressive strength(>10MPa).This technique is considered potentially useful in many applications,and introduces a new application field of gel-casting.
