【摘要】 2023年12月11日至15日,笔者在印尼玛拉拿达基督教大学法学院代表团来访河北师范大学法政与公共管理学院期间担任口译员。期间双方就两校法学院的历史沿革、办学理念以及两国法律体系进行了交流探讨。本实践报告运用李长栓在《理解与表达:英汉口译案例讲评》一书中提出的“理解、记忆、表达、应急”框架(简称UMEER)对此次口译活动中译员的表现及译文进行回顾分析,总结口译过程中遇到的挑战与问题,并提出解决方案。笔者发现理解的关键在于在充分掌握相关背景信息的情况下准确理解发言人意图,这为有效记忆和表达奠定了基础;脑记和笔记的结合能够有效避免复杂或冗长信息的翻译出现纰漏;在表达方面,笔者通过增译、减译、重组发言信息等方法以实现译文的准确、连贯和简洁;但有时由于发言人口音较重、发言信息较为复杂,译员一时难以准确理解部分信息,故而采取了应急措施,比如合理猜测、暂时放弃笔记或是要求发言人澄清。通过此次口译实践活动,笔者作为口译新手对口译活动的本质有了更加深入的了解,自身口译技能尤其是应急能力有了一定的提升,故希望通过作者的回顾与总结,为同类口译实践提供一些启示。更多还原

【Abstract】 From December 12 to 15,2023,the author served as an interpreter during the visit of a delegation from the Faculty of Law of Maranatha Christian University(MCU),Indonesia,to the School of Law and Public Administration at Hebei Normal University(HEBNU).During the visit,both sides engaged in discussions on the historical development and educational philosophy of the two universities,and the legal systems of their respective countries.This report uses the“Understanding,Memory,Expression,and Emergency Response”(UMEER)framework proposed by Li Changshuan in his book Meaning and Expression:Annotated Texts in English/Chinese Interpretation to evaluate the interpreter’s performance and analyze the interpretations,thus summarizing the challenges encountered during the interpreting process and providing solutions.The interpreter finds that the key to understanding lies in accurately comprehend the speaker’s intent based on a thorough grasp of relevant background information,which serves as a foundation for effective memory retention and expression.The combination of brain memory and note-taking helps prevent errors in interpreting complex or lengthy information.In terms of expression,the interpreter employs such techniques as addition,omission and restructuring the speech messages to ensure accuracy,coherence,and conciseness.However,due to strong accents or complex speech content,there are instances where the interpreter may struggle to fully comprehend certain information.In such cases,emergency strategies are adopted,including reasonable guessing,temporarily forgoing note-taking,or asking for clarification from the speaker.Through this interpreting practice,the author,as a novice interpreter,gained a deeper understanding of the nature of interpreting activities,and her interpreting skills,particularly her emergency response abilities,have improved to some extent.The author hopes that this report can provide insights for similar interpreting practices.更多还原
