目的论指导下的科技文本英汉翻译实践报告

【摘要】 近年来,随着信息技术的发展和智能化需求的提升,物联网和可穿戴设备应运而生,作为新时代重要的技术科学,在未来的科技发展中起着重要的作用。为了促进全球科技领域的交流与合作,使不同语言背景的人能够理解和学习最新的技术发展,此领域科技文本翻译的研究显得尤为重要。本翻译实践报告以《物联网与可穿戴设备设计基础》(Fundamentals of IoT and Wearable Technology Design)一书三、四、五章节为源文本,基于翻译目的论,探讨了科技文本在英译汉翻译实践过程中词汇、句法和篇章层面中所遇到的难点,并提出了相应的解决方案和翻译方法。词汇层面,结合科技文本的特点,采取直译等翻译方法,对源文本中专业术语、半技术词等进行翻译;句子层面,对科技文本中的被动语态和长难句等进行句型转换、拆句分析,力求译文更加通顺、流畅;篇章层面,探讨了翻译过程中文本的衔接与连贯性,采用重复、增减衔接词等方法实现衔接和连贯。本翻译实践报告对文本实例分析后发现,翻译目的论对科技类文本的翻译实践具有一定的指导意义,其能够有效提升翻译质量,使科技信息在全球范围内得到广泛精准的传播。
【Abstract】 In recent years,with the development of information technology and the increasing demand for intelligence,the Internet of Things(IoT)and wearable devices have emerged as important technologies in the new era,playing a crucial role in the future development of science and technology.In order to promote global exchanges and cooperation in the field of technology,and to enable people from different language backgrounds to understand and learn about the latest technological developments,research on the translation of scientific and technological texts in this field is particularly important.This translation practice report is based on Chapters Three,Four and Five of the book Fundamentals of IoT and Wearable Technology Design as the source text.Grounded in the Skopos theory,it delves into the challenges encountered at the lexical,syntactic,and discourse levels in the process of translating technical texts from English to Chinese,offering corresponding solutions and translation strategies.At the lexical level,in line with the characteristics of technical texts,methods such as literal translation are employed to translate terminology and semi-technical terms from the source text.At the syntactic level,passive voice constructions and complex sentences typical in technical texts are transformed into simpler structures through sentence restructuring and sentence segmentation,aiming for a more fluent and coherent translation.On the discourse level,the report discusses the coherence and cohesion of the text during the translation process,employing methods such as repetition and the addition or removal of connective words to achieve coherence and continuity in the translated text.After analyzing the text examples,this translation practice report finds that the Skopos theory has certain guiding significance for the translation practice of scientific and technological texts,effectively improving the quality of translation and enabling the widespread and accurate dissemination of scientific and technological information globally.
